Who is InStep
Dance Theatre (IDT) – Junior Company?
IDT is a dance and musical theatre company that resides at InStep
Dance Studios and is considered a separate entity to InStep Dance Studios.
What is our Mission? The mission of IDT is to give young people
who are passionate about dance and musical theatre opportunities to perform
throughout the community of Corpus Christi
and beyond, educating those who have had little or no opportunity to see the
performing arts and promoting dance and musical theatre to those who support
the performing arts.
What is our Goal? Our goal is to have a group of performers who
sing and dance in all communities throughout the Coastal Bend.
Who is a Member? Any person who auditions for IDT on Saturday,
August 27 at 11:30 a.m., is accepted
into the company and pays the company fee is considered a member. Only those members who meet the performance
requirements and pay the company fee will be allowed to perform.
What is the
Projected Rehearsal Schedule?
The projected rehearsal schedule will begin Saturday, September 10, 11:30-1:00 p.m. We will have rehearsals three Saturdays per
month with the fourth and/or fifth Saturdays off. A detailed schedule will be provided and
posted on the website and at the studio.
Will IDT Travel
out of Town? IDT will travel out
of town if given the opportunity to perform or go to convention. Should IDT be given this opportunity, all
expenses will be divided by the company’s members and a meeting will be
scheduled to discuss.
Will IDT Hold any
Fundraisers? Fundraisers will be
held should the parents decide to raise extra money for travel, costumes,
equipment, etc. At least one fundraiser
per year is to be expected.
Who is the
Director? There are two
directors for IDT, the executive director, Jilissa Cotten and the assistant
director, Sarah Gonzalez. All questions
should be directed to Jilissa Cotten.
Ms. Gonzalez is responsible for rehearsals, choreography and
performances.
